§ 14 SächsDSG
Competence
(1)1The Saxon Data Protection Commissioner shall be the supervisory authority within the meaning of Article 51(1) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. 2The Commissioner shall monitor the application of data protection provisions by the public bodies referred to in Section 2(1) and (2).
(2)The Saxon Data Protection Commissioner shall be the competent supervisory authority pursuant to Section 40 of the Federal Data Protection Act for the data processing of non-public bodies.
(3)1Insofar as the processing of personal data takes place for journalistic purposes, the provisions concerning the Data Protection Commissioner in the Saxon Private Broadcasting Act, in the version of the announcement of 9 January 2001 (SächsGVBl. p. 69, 684), as last amended by Article 4 of the Act of 26 April 2018 (SächsGVBl. p. 198), as amended from time to time, shall remain unaffected. 2For the processing of personal data for non-journalistic purposes, the Saxon Data Protection Commissioner shall be the supervisory authority.
