Representation on the European Data Protection Board, central contact point
(1)The joint representative on the European Data Protection Board and the central contact point shall be the Federal Commissioner (joint representative). As the deputy of the joint representative, the Bundesrat shall elect the head of a supervisory authority of a Land (deputy). The election shall be for five years. The function of deputy shall end simultaneously with leaving the office of head of a supervisory authority of a Land. Re-election shall be permissible.
(2)In matters concerning the performance of a task for which the Länder alone have the right to legislate, or which concern the establishment or procedure of Land authorities, the joint representative shall, upon the deputy's request, transfer the conduct of negotiations and the voting right on the European Data Protection Board to the deputy.
