Processing for archival, scientific and statistical purposes
(1)Personal data may be processed for archival, scientific or statistical purposes within the framework of the purposes referred to in § 20, provided that there is a public interest in doing so and appropriate safeguards for the rights of data subjects are provided. Such safeguards may consist of anonymising personal data as promptly as possible, of precautions against unauthorised disclosure to third parties, or of their processing in a manner that is spatially and organisationally separate from other specialist tasks. zur Einzelansicht § 26
