Public awards and honours
(1)For the preparation of public awards and honours, the competent bodies may process the data required for that purpose, including data within the meaning of Article 9(1) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, without the knowledge of the data subject. Processing of such data for other purposes shall only be permissible with the consent of the data subject.
(2)At the request of the bodies referred to in paragraph 1, other public bodies may transmit the data necessary for the preparation of the award or honour.
(3)Paragraphs 1 and 2 shall not apply where the responsible body is aware that the data subject does not wish to receive public awards or honours or has objected to the data processing necessary for that purpose.

(6)In proceedings for the decision on public awards and honours, only Articles 4 to 7, 16 to 18, Chapter IV and Chapter VI of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 shall apply mutatis mutandis.
