Public awards and honours
(1)For the preparation of public awards and honours, the competent authorities may process the necessary data, including data within the meaning of Article 9(1) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, without the knowledge of the data subject. Processing of such data for other purposes shall be permissible only with the consent of the data subject.
(2)Upon request by the bodies referred to in paragraph 1, other public bodies may transmit the data necessary for the preparation of the award or honour.
(3)Paragraphs 1 and 2 shall not apply where the data processing body is aware that the data subject has objected to the public award or honour or to the data processing associated therewith.
(4)In proceedings concerning public awards and honours, only Articles 5 to 7, Chapter IV with the exception of Articles 33 and 34, and Chapter VI of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 shall apply accordingly.
