§ 18 HDSIG
Staff and Resources
(1)The Hessian Data Protection Commissioner shall be provided with the staff and resources necessary for the performance of his or her tasks. These shall be shown in a separate chapter within the budget of the Landtag. The President of the Landtag shall provide the staff and resources upon the selection of the Hessian Data Protection Commissioner.
(2)The civil servants shall be selected by the Hessian Data Protection Commissioner and appointed by the President of the Landtag upon the Commissioner's proposal. Their superior is the Hessian Data Protection Commissioner, to whose instructions they are exclusively bound. The Hessian Data Protection Commissioner shall exercise the functions of the supreme disciplinary authority under the Hessian Disciplinary Act for the civil servants working for him or her.
