§ 7 HDSIG
Tasks
(1)In addition to the tasks referred to in Regulation (EU) No 2016/679, the data protection officer shall have at least the following tasks: 1. informing and advising the public body and the employees who carry out processing operations regarding their obligations under this Act and other data protection provisions, including the legal provisions enacted for the transposition of Directive (EU) No 2016/680, 2. monitoring compliance with this Act and other data protection provisions, including the legal provisions enacted for the transposition of Directive (EU) No 2016/680, as well as the strategies of the public body for the protection of personal data, including the assignment of responsibilities, the raising of awareness and the training of employees involved in processing operations, and the related audits, 3. providing advice in connection with the data protection impact assessment and monitoring its implementation pursuant to § 62, 4. cooperating with the Hessian Data Protection Commissioner, 5. acting as a point of contact for the Hessian Data Protection Commissioner on matters relating to processing, including the prior consultation pursuant to § 64, and providing advice on all other matters where appropriate. In the case of a data protection officer appointed at a court, these tasks shall not relate to the actions of the court in the exercise of its judicial function.
(2)The data protection officer may perform other tasks and duties. The public body shall ensure that such tasks and duties do not lead to a conflict of interest.
